One of thirteen children, Horace Spray was born on 24 August 1858 in Westbury, Gloucestershire.
He had many jobs throughout his life, including registry office clerk and dairyman.
On 19 December 1880, he married Laura Gertrude Kellaway. Together they had five children.
Horace died on 5 May 1918 in Ashley, Bristol.
