Leah was born in 1860 and first appears on the 1861 census with her parents and her elder sister, Bertha. Ten years later, at the time of the 1871 census, she was staying with her grandmother - Jemima's mother - Mary Stephens.
After several attempts at trying to find both Leah and her sister, Bertha on the 1881 census under Honey, I realised that both the sisters had either been married or had died during the period 1871-81. Searching on "Leah" (as it was an unusual name) and her birth year turned up the surprise of finding both sisters living at the same place: at 38 Albert Road in Stoke Dameral, Devon. By this time, Leah Honey had become Leah Giddy.
When I failed to locate her on the following census of 1891, I made a search of deaths. Leah died on 12 January 1885 having suffered from septicaemia for 6 days after giving birth. She was aged just 24.
